Default 427 Ford/Holman-Moody side oiler $$??

I've got a Holman Moody 427 Ford Side Oiler. It's been completely rebuilt .020 over all new valves, solid flat tappet cam. Complete from balancer to bellhousing, flame arrestor to pan, engine wiring harness. Everything except for exhaust.

It was intended for a Donzi project but I'm thinking of selling it to help finance a new set of motors for my Cig.

I'm pretty much out of touch with the value of these things. But I know it's pretty rare and ready to run. What can I expect to get for it?

Thanks in advance,

Kurt

If it's a side oiler, they're pretty popular with the Cobra kit car crowd and probably where you'll get the best price. Try this link for info:

If it's a center oiler, you'll still get good money for it.
BTW, even .02 over for those blocks may be pushing the limits of the thin wall casting on the 427s. Make sure you have the rebuild tech info to show the block was checked.

8 years ago I sold a complete (in parts boxes) 427 side oiler that I had gotten in a trade. I sold it for 3000$ BUT it needed a cyl sleeve, new pistons, crank turned, had a magneto distributer that worked, tunnel port heads,2 roller cams, factory tunnel port dual 4 barrell intake. I got about 150 calls on it. I had researched them at the time,in hemmings a complete turnkey rebuilt medium riser 427 side oiler was going for 8500$,a high riser complete was about 10,000$ and a turnkey tunnel port was worth 12,000-14,000$,hope this helps,Smitty

Theres a rusty block and set of lemans rods on E-bay asking 7500$,a complete motor not rebuilt but turns out to be a center oiler marine block beginning bid 4500$ and a aftermarket bare block for 4000$ so I think 8-10K minimum is very realistic,Smitty
