I must have stepped in some trailer grease in the dark and climbed into the boat to turn off the batteries. Two days later there was some nasty stains in the vinyl.
The only thing I had handy was Fast Orange hand cleaner. With a damp rag and some rubbing the grease and the stain came completely out.
The Lava soap you used, was it a bar or liquid?

I'm going to pick up both and see what works best, I'm thinking the liquid. http://www.wd40.com/Brands/lava_faqs.html
