Default Box Anchor how to..........

I am getting the medium box anchor and have no real anchoring experience with my boat. I have a 29' boat and wish to anchor in my local bay and in the ocean coast line in some coves. I understand with the box it's 5-1 scope and I just need to know how to set and retrieve. Do I walk to the bow drop it and have somone reverse until I have a good pull? Or can I lower it from my drivers seat and do the same and use the middle cleet to hook it to? Also, is the bow or mid cleet better for anchoring in calm waters? Thanks!

Always anchor off the bow. Figure how deep the water is let out 5 times as much line. As wind or currents change, the boat will move/drift.

don't you have to reverse away from where you drop the anchor to set it?

Maybe a little. Usually I just let the line out slowly and the current or wind does the rest.
