Has anyone had this problem? I changed to roller rockers and bought Edelbrock Signature series TALL covers(cheesy but cheap). The metal box around the oil baffles seem to hit a rocker or two.
My stock cast aluminum 502 valve covers fit even with the drippers, but look like they would need two gaskets. The oil baffles are also on opposite ends compared to the Edelbrocks so its hard to compare them.
I am going to cut the metal boxes off
tonight, but then there is nothing blocking the spraying oil. You will be able to look right into the cylinder head. Anyone see a problem with this?
I am doing this while the boat is in the water and don’t need the extra trips!

I just bought a set as well. Putting them on new engines. I hope I don't run into the same thing. Already sent back one set that didn't work. Jeg's is gonna cast me aside.

I hate to admit this but....
I had to round off intake rockers 1, 8.
The 100 degree heat was causing me not to think
I still can not believe I forgot that. The last set I bought it was already done!

I ran into the same problem with roller rockers and etc. I installed a set of Hardin Marine valve covers plenty of clearance for exhaust but i blew a hose on the maiden voyage and now I have water spots all over them and I haven't been able to remove the spots

1BIGJIM, hope all is well with you. Are you still using the Air Gap manifold? Hope it worked out for you. Anyway, I bought a nice set of polished aluminum valve covers from IMCO. I have no clearance issues with roller rockers and they are cut at an angle to avoid hitting the exhaust manifolds. I paid around $135 for them five years ago. Not sure what they cost now. For cleaning, try a little Mother's Mag Polish on them once in a while. They polish up awsome.
Take care, Steve
