Just replaced the innercooler , busted on last run and got tons of water in the oil .Started right up after cooler install but wouldnt pump any water. I took apart the waterpump and saw the impeller was wasted. New impeller and she fired right up and pumps more water than ever. Now, I changed the oil and I know I should change it again . But the motor is steaming at start up and then calms down to almost non existent. My question is could the left over water in the oil be causing all this steam ? The oil comes up to 160 degrees or so at the dock . So I know im steaming the water some .If I run the boat 15 minutes dock side go in the house come back restart big steam for 15 seconds then it is almsot non existent. The motor is almost impossible to do a compression check. lThe motor sounds great .I know it could be a head gasket or intake gasket BUTTTT could it be the left over water in the oil ???

open the valve cover breather and stick your finger in the valve cover....if you have some milky looking oil, then you have water in the oil; could be left over condensation....pull dip stick, is the oil milky? If so, you have water in the oil, so you need to replace the oil again....then run the boat so as to heat the oil for a while to burn off the condensation....if that doesn't work, then you may have a bad head gasket or loose intake manifold.............or, to answer your question....yes

I know I still have some water in the oil .I will change it at least 2 more times before I run it . But I guess the left over milky oil could be causing the steam ? After 10 mjinutes of running it goes away ??

You will get steam as the oil temp gets up above 160F, if your oil temp gets above 212 it will clean up real quick.
Just keep an eye on the oil to make sure it's getting better.

Well , more facts have surfaced. After a 2 hour cool down I fired it up and it steamed like crazy . Im thinking water getting in cylinders from somewhere, After 5 minutes it is very moderate.but never steamed at all prior to the inner cooler going bad. When I took the blower off and inner cooler to accomplish the inner cooler replacement . Lots of salt in the manifold pockets. Could have been leaking for a while and finally blew last weekend but it could have disturbed the intake bolts and thats where my water / steam is coming from .Seams to be steaming from both sides. So I think it would be more than likely the intake bolts need to be snugged up. Very unlikely that both head gaskets blew. What do you think . We have a poker run in 9 days I need a fix !!!!

Started the motor on Wednesday and it steamed like crazy . I cut it off and restarted it 15 minutes later and it was worse. Thursday a freind came to help me pull the top end apart to see what was leaking. We started it first and we couldnt make it steam .We ran it for 20 minutes nothing. I guess water in oil evaporated and possibly some air pockets had desolved in the water lines / cooling system . But today it ran like a champ. I have seen air pockets before and I have seen a loose strainer lid airate the water and cause lots of steam . I guess im good to go . WOW lucky i guess???
