Best drive 800hp Cat- ASD-7 or Konrad 540?

I like the Arneson's. After driving a 38 Hustler and the last 4300 Nortech V with it I was sold. As to resale any stern drive will be better accepted by the public. To me the surface drive in general has less moving parts, and they are accepted better on a cat vs a V like in my case. Also have been proven on quite a few applications around the worls on all kinds of vessles. I'm sure a few Konrad guys will chime in and share their experiences. Drive them both if possible. Your welcome to drive mine when finished in 2 weeks. Jeff

THANKS Jeff, cant wait to see your new 43, I think the asd 7's will be better on the Doug Wright and much lighter, but still like the Konrad as a bullet proof stern drive, any ideas on the costs difference with steering complete. sounds like Harold is treating you good, you have a cool looking paint scheme working, I think it is getting better everytime I see it, although I like purples, the blues are a nice change, the other advantage on the Arnesons are prop size, selection vs. bravo.. can you get a 2 speed on the asd 7, ans what type of tranny is a velvet drive, jim

there like a silent exhaust to close off the air once on plane to drastically help acceleration from midrange to top run. I will have to put donky dicks on cause I cant get the Nortech under water exhaust. I was disappointed but was told the diesels are at the bottom of the transom and cant be done. This should help with some transom soot. JJ

Arneson's!!! I can put to bed all the nonsense about docking backing, turning, etc that is all BS...my 36 Nor-Tech Cat has 0 porpoise at any speed & handles like its on rails. it come on plane flat with no trim tabs or tucking the drives way down, just hit the throttles & go...anyone is welcome to come take a ride in mine if you wish.... + they will not break Period... The public is so mind set ... driven by mercury.. most are afraid of change..
