looking for all the advice I can get and or a good glass man and painter in the northern Minnesota or Wisconsin area. Have a 22' chaparral off-shore style. Have removed all rotten wood and foam down to bare hull and transom outer glass / gel-coat (at least 3/4 of boat, all main floor area up to cabin entrance)
Don't want no more rotten wood so thinking of replacing all inner wooden support panels and flooring with prepeg carbon fiber and aluminum, same for the transom. New motor mounts from stainless steel angles all glassed to the hull. Have new 550 hp sbc engine and bravo one drive to set for power, and finally, on outside want to repaint and do some mild graphics etc....
Was planning on doing the glass and aluminum myself, but time is a big factor...I'm currently in Iraq and only have limited R&R time to work on this thing...want to be ready for next May
Will have to have some reference....seen too many...sure I'll paint it like new.....ughs!!
Thanks...
