Default 525sc intercooled

Has anyone intercooled their 525sc?
Thinking about doing it. Have been told I can run 8lb boost w/intercooler's. What do you think? 100hp+ per mtr gain.

Not worth spinning it up that hot(14,000rpm's) to just take the heat back out....change them out for 8-71's.

I would say more like 50-60hp. You can run 7.5# w/o the cooler without any problems. Won't make as much HP, but it can be done. I have done it for almost 250hrs.

Griff,
You think only 50-60hp gain w/chiller and larger pully?
I thought you may get 50 w/chiller alone...

Had a pair for six years with the chillers and the pulley upgrade. Ran at 7 -7.5 lbs. and were 100% trouble free. They made over 600 hp, only thing I did was to change oil ever 20 -25 hrs and plugs. Often wish I still had them. They are less stressed at the higher boost intercooled than they are stock without the intercoolers.

Thanks Ragged. 600hp would get me close to the 100mph mark!

Same here....
I say its still better to do the larger blower....not that the other way won't work for ya.
When I had my 525's rebuilt we went with roller cams and 6.5psi pulleys without chillers, they made 580HP on the dyno.
I ran the pisss out them.
