Thinking of a PQ 260SX

Hey ya'll!
Was wanting to know some info on a 2004 PQ 260SX...Are they good boats. This one has the stock 496HO/425 hp...I currently own a 2003 Crownline 225BR and am looking to upgrade, possibly to a PQ. I live in Oregon! Any info any of you can give me...just want to make a good decision. I really appreciate it! Greg

I have a 2001 260 SX with a 496/375HP Volvo with a Duo Prop Drive. I live in the Okanagan area of BC and have had the boat for about 11/2 years and just love it, it handles the rough water much better than my previous 20' Bow Rider. I think you would enjoy the 2004.

Seems like they aren't in business anymore...is that true? Should I be worried about getting parts, ect? I currently own a 2003 Crownline 225BR, but am looking for a go-fast boat. What kind of top speed should I see? We are about 140 feet above sea level. Thanks and appreciate any replies you may have!

PQ is currently closed. The company is supposedly being sold, and rumor as it that they will be up and running soon. Take that for what it is worth.
Now, as for parts, probably 90% of the boat is sourced from other suppliers - engine/drive = Mercury, trim tabs = Bennet or Lenco (most likely), the windshield comes from Taylor, the gauges from Faria, etc etc. Other than the hull and deck molds, and maybe the seating, most boats are bolted together with parts from other companies.
Long story short, I wouldn't worry about finding parts. We're on our 2nd PQ (first was a 280, now have a 290) and like the combination of build, performance, and room.

Dock said it all on the factory. As for speed with the 454 Mage EFI 385hp we see 58-61mph pending load on GPS. She's not the fastest but rides nice, looks good and suits the family need for now. Notice I didn't say my need. As always faster and bigger is better. I went for a ride on a friends 28 Pantera yesterday with twin 650hp's all I can say is WOW!!!!

Great Boat,
I have a 99 260 Legend SX. Large Helm and Cabin; comfortable bolsters. The boat with a 496ho will run about 63-65mph. Also, boat handles rough water like the big boys. I had a 1998 260. One of the best boats I have ever owned. I only sold it to get out of boating for now. It had a 454 mag and ran 60 plus everyday. I sold it to a guy in Richmond and he e-mails me still telling me how much he loves it! You can't go wrong with it! Good luck! There are some good deals out there. I wouldn't worry about the company, since as has been pointed out most boats are built with other manufacterers parts. I changed a few things while I had it, and delt with Faria and Lowrance directly, with no problems!

I own a 2000 260 Legend SX with a 502 MPI. Currently see 64 on GPS. I went from a 19' bowrider to this boat 3 years ago and absolutely love it! Large cabin, large cockpit, tons of storage, handles the rough stuff great. I've been on Lake Ontario in 6 footers and it was all kinds of fun. No fear on the factory situation, as previously stated, 90% of the boat can still be purchased, and if for some crazy reason you had problems with the glass, you can find a reputable shop in your area to do any repairs on that. Too bad you are in Oregon, mine is clean and for sale. (same old story, bigger with twins)
