New storage facility
#1
Well guys here it goes Brian Bobb ( Kool Aid) and I have started a new Venture. Platnium Marine Storage. We will be offering special rates To Chicago Powerboat Club members only. Get ahold of Kool Aid or myself for more info. We will probably sending out info to all Members anyhow.
This is a 245,000 Sq. ft. facility with 18'-22' high celings. It has a 300,000 gallon wet system for fire sprinklers, and is a combination of brick and steel building. Full concrete floors , with six shipping docks . Security consist of a full perimeter fence. two guard house, walking security and closed circuit monitoring system.
Everthing will be by appiontment only so no-one will just be wandering aimlessly through the storage area. We will be down working on our own boats this winter so on weekends that we are there members who have thier boat there can work on them also. We will designate an are for club members boats. Other than that there wil be noone else working in the facility.
Hope to here from some of you , I know that most already have a place to keep thier boat but we're hoping to get at least a few members and some from other locations to get ourselves off to a decent start.
Thanks ,, Brian Miller A.K.A Stright Jacket

Sounds great Brian, I have a place for the winter but next Spring when the Hammond Marina is closed. I know alot of us will be looking for a place close to the lake to keep our boats for easy lake access to the ramp in East Chicago or Burns Ditch.
Will we be able to get access for to the boats on weekends in the summer time?
Thanks
Mark

The place has heat, We will be set up like most marina's with six month type of set up . Yes you will be abe to access them in the summer . just call ahead of time and we will put them out side the building. If we are able to put enough boats in the building to where it is cost effective than we will staff someone there Thurs day thru sunday. It is located at 700 Chase street in Gary, Cline ave to 5th street Down about 3 miles on south side of street.
