Default cable or dish? Who has the races?

I'm not really a TV guy, I watch some football and hockey and a couple of home improvement shows but thats about it. I'm in my new home and I have to decide to go with cable or dish and what I need to know is who has the SBI or OSS races on the most, dish or cable?

Go with the dish.
I have Dish Network and very pleased with the service. They have the "Water Channel" which covers the races. And then there's several channels of ESPN to go with it, more than cable carries. You have far more chances of finding race coverage on dish than cable.

Not sure what cable offers, but I'll cast another vote for the dish. The Water Channel has quickly become my favorite...It has some good stuff on it, including races.

I agree that dish has more channels but we lose our signal almost everytime it rains and sometimes if it is just cloudy. We have had techs look at it but they can't get me a decent signal when it rains. Went back to cable for more reliable, but more expensive, service and much faster internet.

I had trouble with signal drop-outs (in clear air) when the dish was first installed.
A tech came out, looked at the set up and said the alignment was OK, but barely in the acceptable range. He realigned it and we haven't had trouble since. Signal strenght is now at max.
Sure, we have a drop-out with real heavy (severe type) rain clouds, but that's the only time it goes out. Regular rain is no problem. We had far more than that with cable.

I just moved and have no other choice so I have Dish Network. It's o.k. but does go out in storms and believe it or not offers a lot less in high def than my prior cable company (Buckeye Express). I am now stuck with dial-up Internet and miss the high speed cable connection.

BTW this costs more per month than my cable did! I guess it just depends on where you live. One positive thing about Dish Network is the yellow commercial bypass button for the DVR my cable DVR did not have that it's a great feature

I vote for Dish Network also. Channel 217 Water channel is about as good as tv coverage gets. Lots of repeats but still great to watch. BTW.. I have dish for tv and cable for internet and phone, Its no problem to do. Even is cheaper than getting all 3 services from cable company here.

Our bill is less than we payed for Adelphia Cable and we get a lot more channels.
Loss of TV signal, cable or dish, is a way of life for us in Central Florida.
The few times we loose signal is no big deal to us. We just grab a DVD to watch.

For internet we're using dial-up .
Soon to be changed to cable.
