Grand Slam Poker run for the novice?
#1
Ok E-Dock guys, it looks like my boat won't be here in time for the shootout, but we should be set for the Grand Slam.
My questions are, is this a good event for the new boat owner with a 24' 70mph boat? To qualify that, I am a new boat owner, but I have driven boats ranging from 14 - 30 ft over the last 20 years and I'm not a complete novice boater. I also raced PWC fro several years, so I do have experience and know how to handle myself on the water.
That being said, is this poker run an event I should feel comfortable joining in, or is it better for a new boat owner to watch from the sidelines?
Also, does the entry fee of $400 for the boat and 2 crew + $95 per additional person get a hand for each person?
Where is the place to stay at Grand Lake? I've never been there, so some help there would be good.
Lastly, I'll need some info on how to get to the infamous E-Dock. Are there slips to rent, or is it full? Is there any rack storage at grand?
Thanks for the help!!

Head on up to the lake and check it out...you've got a few weekends to find your way around...everyone here on OSO will be glad to point you in the right directions
...that being said, I'd say stayouttheway...but do show up and do the run, you'll be glad you did...and you get to hang out with the famous E Dockers
...mapquest Cherokee Yacht Club and thats where ITS at....no on rack storage but call Gary (the best marina manager) at CYC 918.782.7106 for a slip...see ya at the lake..whip
