40K Budget, Want The Best Used 28-30' Single Screw Poker Run/Wavecrusher
#1
OK I have a budget of about 40K for my next boat. I want a single screw, 28-30 foot boat that good on the Cheasapeake Bay waters and will be able to run with some of the larger boats on poker runs. Looking to run 70-80 MPH.
I'd like to stay in the mid to late 1990's if possible. I've seen a couple of 29 Fountains and 29 Scarabs that may be nice, but I don't want to limit myself to those two brands.
I'd also like one with a nice cabin for overnight stays.
Any suggestions would be great. Try to post up pics with your suggestions so I can have a good idea of what the boat looks like.
Thanks in advance.

I got a 1998 27' Vip Vindicator w/502,tabs,trailer,silent choice, real nice sound system w/ipod player and 6 disc subs, bimini, purple neon lighting in interior siderails(glows purple at night looks awesome) boat has about 160 hours till I go to LOTO for the shootout. it's a deep V handles the rough real well. I bought it with 68 hours on it from my partner and he has had it since new. Probably tops out around 70 not sure I don't have GPS. Stainless steel 4 blade. I'd like to get 36k for it. its a great buy at that price. I've got my eye on something bigger. PM me and ill get you some pics. Take the extra 5k and get a Procharger and 3 blade and you will have 80 mph boat.

The best and last offshore that size(so far) was a 26(28) Velocity. Now owned by someone on the Cheasapke(name was "been there").
That boat kicked major ass on rough michigan waters for 3 years, and could get major air time without anything coming apart.
cant comment on their other boats, but the 26-28 for the size and bang for the buck, it was unbeatable.
seriously stomped my friends Cig cafe with 2X600 hp every time.
that bottom was probably the best they ever put out, and could also corner on rails...
Thanks in advance.

Thats asking a awful lot for 40K. I have bought 2 28s in the last year and I shop for boats daily and I have not yet saw a boat that will fit all your critera. Good luck in your search.
