Default Anyone running this 509" combo?

If so how much estimated horspower/ torque? Started out as a 502 mag.

509c.i., 088 rec port heads w/ 2.25int, 1.88 ex valves, bowl ported. Crane roller rockers and hardware. Crane 731 rollercam. MPI intake setup.lightning headers.
Dyno#'s would be good but a guesstimate will work too.

I would guess around 500-520....probably pick up a little from being a 509 and give a little using MPI system. Put intake and carb on and might see 550ish. Cam is too small to benefit from twisting the motor above 5500....

Should make about the same power as a HP500EFI.
Maybe just a little more with the ported heads and added cubes...

I would very much agree with these numbers. I have a lightly ported MPI intake, Dart Pro1 heads, a slightly larger camshaft, and 9.5:1 compression. Mine made 540HP on Lingenfelter's dyno between 5200 and 5300 RPM.

I'm running similar engines in my top gun except I'm using ported dart heads, a slightly larger cam, 9:1 compression, modified mpi intake manifold and redesigned fuel system.
I'm running about 540+ HP at 5400 RPM's.

mjb,

How is your intake modified? How did you do your fuel system?

This is my engine combo using the azsm type mpi lower intake and an M3 s/c procharger. I was just wanting a ballpark figure for bench racing purposes. I appreciate the responses.

BGIII- my manifolds have shortened runners that were also extrude honed by ASM. I scraped the entire cool fuel system. Now I have 1/2" pickups with #8 lines from my tanks to RAMCO fuel/water filters, then #8 to WELDON 600 pumps, thru check valves and #6 to WELDON filters and then to the front of the fuel rails and out the back to WELDON regulators with mechanical psi gauges then #6 returns thru fuel coolers and back to the tanks. I probably could have omitted the fuel coolers since I went back to the tank but they can't hurt. It was an expensive fuel system(x2) but good insurance and maybe a few MPH.
Hope that info helps
