wich is uderwritten by ACE. I am curious to the renewal policy section that refers to the insured motors in your boat and whether anyone else has presented this to thier insurer,

The policy has specific pages that reflect your declarations page. One page in particular is the "HIGH PERFORMANCE VESSEL ENDORSEMENT" wich states "coverage is only for engine(s), drive train and propulsion gear are, and remain, the ORIGINAL UNMODIFIED provided by the vessels manufacturer. ".......any modifications or alterations of engine,drive train,propulsion gear w/o prior written agreement will auotomatically VOID ALL COVERAGE under this policy" Maintenace is okay.

I spoke to Buzz and asked him this question since most older boats and new have rebuilt as well as modified motors and drive train. The slightest change can void the coverage. However, he also ststed he has never com across this question since my boats have custom engines and drive train. I am waiting on a reponse from them.

Anyone read thier endorsements pages carefully and see this on yours??

This means that the insurance comapny assumes that all of your engines and drive train are 100% stock UNLESS you advise them of modifications that have been made.

I.E. - You insure your boat as a 38 Cig with 500hps. Then you throw some small blowers on them AFTER THE FACT, run the boat for a while and then have a claim. Unless you notified the insurance company of the blowers in writing, the insurance company does not have to pay your claim.

This also goes for people who claim 1000hp but are running 1250hp. If you have an accident and it is verified that your HP was not what was presented originally....you are S.O.L

Lets take this to the next step, do I need to notify them that I put crossovers on when the water pumps died?

I have total dollar -ace . And when I put blowers on I called Sy. Faxed him the upgrade info and no big deal.Better than having them hang up on you if theres a claim.

I had Inovation rebuild 500 efis, sent and called Total Dollar, took FOREVER to get confirmation, but they said it was Ok.

I called Sy and told him my motors were rebuilt and have slightly more HP than stock. I wrote him a note say approx how much more HP and that there were re-built by Joey Griffin etc, I got back a note from the Ins co. stating the info and that all was fine.

Everyone should read their policy - if you don't use your lanyards = negligence ie: no insurance!

Just advise Sy if there are any changes.
