I was scanning my copy of Don Aronow: 'King of Thunderboat Row' the other day. In the Cigarette section, they show a 20' model which is painted exactly like my 20 which is hull number CRT201060478. I wonder if that's my boat? Obviously, my is serialed as April '78. It talks about the 20 being introduced in 1977 but doesn't have a date on the picture.

Maybe Brownie or Ed Cozzi could shed some light?

the 20 was introduced prior to 77...and i think as early as 72.

mine's a 74

What I meant by 'scanning' was perusing it, not image scanning. I'm in Baltimore a lot in the winter, you're welcome to stop by sometime and look at the offshore books, I also have SeaRace, and Blue Thunder. I still want a copy of Jay's book about Don - 'Speed Kills'. HOTDUCK has my contact info, I just don't want to blind post it here because it can find it's way to the internet too easily.

the first year for the "20" was 1972 and it was called a 19 that year we figure as a marketing thing on the sucess of the 19 hornet the next year 73 it was called a 20
from what we have gathered and pieced together over the last few years restoring what we belive to be the first one( oso member Cig 19's boat) produced , is that 3 were made in 72 and about 146 were made in total the boat has basically not changed over it life span some minor adjustments were made to the location of the seats when they went from SB power to BB power we found that out the hard way as the carpet pattern that built rite had didn't fit the seat pedistals didn't line up
