OUR OLDEST SON IS A NUCLEAR REACTOR OPERATOR ON THE USS ANNAPOLIS ATTACK SUB. I WAS ABLE TO GET A RIDE FROM GROTON CONNECTICUT TO ANNAPOLIS MARYLAND. MONDAY THE 28th TO THURSDAY THE 31st. 15 FATHER'S AND FRIENDS OF THE CREW WERE SELECTED FOR THIS TRIP. ( TIGER CRUISE ) ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THE TRIP IS WOW!!! YOU CAN BE SURE OF ONE THING OUR COUNTRIES WATER BORDERS ARE VERY SECURE WITH THESE SUB'S PROTECTING US. RON BENDER

My oldest is also in Groton, a nuclear tech on the USS Jackson. I was eager to take a tour. The sub is awesome. The technology they employ is amazing.

One thing I have come to appreciate is how dangerous their job is. I'm proud of my boy, and thankful there are so many like him willing to take that risk to protect our country. Congrats on your trip Mr. Bender - lucky dog

We cruised by the Annapolis today outside of Annapolis. Gotta say it is pretty cool seeing one of those things just floating out there in your home waters We went over for ice cream last night and saw the Admiral's launch going in and out. I said, "Gee I don't see a ship out there, wonder where they're going?" Glad I didn't run into the thing

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE ANNAPOLIS HAS BEEN TO ANNAPOLIS. THE COLLAGE STUDENTS CAN TOUR THE BOAT FOR FREE THIS WEEKEND. THE COMMANDING OFFICER D.J. McKELVEY IS A COOL COMMANDER. WE PULLED INTO THE CHESAPEAKE ON THURSDAY MORNING.

Cool! I was stationed in New London, CT. on the sub tender, the U.S.S. Fulton, 85-88. I was aboard a few subs but never underway on one.
