Default When to winterize?

Just wondering what month you break out the antifreeze? And how much does a full winterize cost? What about cost to drain and refill fluids at the beginning of the boating season.

Thanks to all for the info!

Wait until the next days forcast is for 25 degrees, then run down to the local mechanic (that you haven't seen since last winter) and tell him you'll be his best customer if he'll "pop" yours in right away. Since he's got nothing going on he'll be happy to have something to do. Remember to be upset about the $300 invoice......no one in hteir right mind would spend that kinda money on a boat!!!

Man, did I become a smartazz tonight or what!!! and no I don't do that, I winterize mine myself. (usually late October in VA)

Last year... I think I winterized right before Christmas. Based on this past winter's weather, I could have let her be. I don't think we fell under freezing for more than a day or so here in VA Beach. Being the worry-wart that I am... I gave her a nice dose of antifreeze and engine fogging just to be safe.

I've got a 75000btu heater in the garage set at 40* The garage is attached to the house so it hardly ever runs anyway.

I don't do full winterization. Change the oil and add some stabil to the fuel. I do drain the water out of the block and exhaust just in case.
