Gentleman -
I just purchased a 2000 30 Spectre with twin 300 Promax's. I have a few general questions. First, what does this rig weigh? Second, can anyone recommend props, both for general use (freshwater running, 2-4 people, cruising at 30-50 MPH, with some wide open runs) and top speed? How fast will this rig go?
Has Spectre done any 30's yet with twin 300XS's? What would I gain by rerigging with those motors?
Thanks,
Mike Sufka

JIMKID is right on as far as a regular set of props for every day pleasure boating a pair or 14.5 or 15 X 30 or 32 will run great all the time for you. www.ScreamAndFly.com is a great outboard site where you can usually find spare parts and props for sale. You've got yourself a great boat there, have fun and be safe.

i know what mine runs. these were on a 75 degree day with minimal humidity...oh and cruise at 40-50...not gonna happen. in order for the boat to ride decent gotta be in the high 70's hull doesnt start to work until ya get in the high 70's...

Are we talking Merc Cleavers only? What's the difference going to be between 14.5 and 15 diameter props? 30 pitch vs. 32? Is there a reason to go one way or the other? What's wrong with boat riding at 30-50 MPH? Are we talking about "the hop"?

Call Scott Conrad (he owns Spectre) at SC Performance Marine in Huntington Beach Ca. Scott is very cool and very approachable. He'll be able to answer your questions.
