Anyone In Southwest CT?
#1
I am hoping that there is someone near(2 hour drive) by SW CT with a 37 or 39 OL that wouldn't mind letting my wife take a good look at the interior and possibly take us a for a short (slow) run. I would be willing to pay for fuel (I know what fuel costs and how much you burn)and lunch etc. The reason is my wife is scared at speed in a smaller boat. I think she will feel safer in a larger boat and she is willing to try it. If she gives a green light I can start shopping. The important thing is that if we go for a ride I need to trust you that you wont get out there and lay into it and scare her, that would be the end of performance boating for me. If there is someone out there how would not mind hanging out for an afternoon please contact me.
Thanks

LOL...that's like saying "my wife is afraid of flying, is there somebody with a F-14 that can take her for a short ride?" LOL!!!!!
From experience the only thing that got my wife comfortable is to slowly go at it and let her get comfortable with speed and the rough, it took a while too. However, we didn't do it in one of the fastest boats made either LOL!! Now she's bored unless it's rough out.
Just pokin at ya though, if you want to go for a ride in a pokey 33' PowerPlay out of Norwalk let me know...it ain't no OL but that's up to you.

Thanks for the ideas so far
I did talk to the folks at Ocean for a bit, they have an 04. I think they want little more of a verbal agreement for a test run, but I may work on this angle.
Taking the wife for a wild ride, well
not to really. I have been selling the cabin quality, layout ect this is what I want her to see. For some reason she is stuck on having a cabin that she can stand up in, a head that works and is roomy and so on. So this is where I am selling the OL to her. Also a big thing is the ride, the OL will ride nice even a 37 at cruise is comfortable, even in the LI Sound on a Sunday afternoon with wakes coming from every direction. I have been working on the wife to get relaxed in the boat, had her in the 24 Superboat,(years ago) it was a near panic attack and we weren't even planed off. These days were running in a 271 Formula, rides ok its not really fast, it can go slow. Shes sort of ok running slow till we get bounced a bit. So thats why I am at looking for 37 foot, heavier, should be a better experience. I do like the OLs I have seen I just need help in selling her on the idea.
Sorry no photos of the wife and I dont share

I think in CT there's only one 37 and thats in Branford. There's a new 39 in Milford but the 37 and 39 are two totally different boats. Ocean or myself could probably get you a ride on any other brand though. Would consider another boat possibly a Hustler, Cigarette, ect..... Ocean has a new 39 sitting in their show room that you could crawl around on. They usually wont take anyone out unless the have a deposite. Let me know if I can help.

Hey Dom.,
I hear you talked to my dad today. Hows the boat running??? The season is winding down. We still got a couple more weeks left though. We should run together one more time this year. The Gladiator is running great, thank god. I thought you were looking to sell your 37???
