we used to get about 80gal/mile @22knts

If you look closely at the ship, you will notice that it has no right angles and no perpendicular surfaces. The ships mast is angled back, and cross beams are no longer square or round. This class of ship reportedly has the radar signature of a small (60-90ft) fishing boat. It also has ducted and cooled exhaust to reduce the thermal signature.

I am glad to see my tax dollors used to protect us from terrorism and provide the latest and safest equipment for our men and women in service.

very cool....probably has some large diesel and turbine motor combos, similar to the coast guards largest ice breakers.
