CMIs - have them fixed or buy new exhaust?
#1
Had water getting into my oil, so I pressure tested one of my CMI headers and it's leaking bad. Into the runners where they weld into the elbow.
I'm weighing trying to get this header fixed, or buying 2 new sets (twin engine boat). I have no idea how old they are, so to be safe I might be better off buying new ones.
Thoughts? What does it cost to get CMI to fix a header?

Get new ones before you do alot of damage to your engines.
It will cost you alot less in the long run.... Call Trick Marine..

If I can help either way, please let me know. CMI repairs headers on a time and materials basis assuming they can reach the area that needs to be welded. It's been my experience that pricing has been very fair on repair work.
If you decide to go new, soon is the best time as I'm anticipating a January price increase from CMI.
If you want to send them in for repair, give me a call and I'll have CMI fax the paperwork for a return.
Looking at the photo, the header appears to have the old style rope seal between header and tail. That would make them a bit on the old side.
