There was an article in last months (?) Ocean Drive magazine on the 2 producers and them doing this movie. I seem to remember that they are both in their late 20's but grew up in Miami and remember all the violence.

i have a copy of the film it's AWSOME......and it's not a boot leg...and no it doesn't mention anything of 188 st 
but it's an awsome flick
