Keep the old one if you can, they go up in value every year.

What are the specs of the 4S'?

I have a new 2006. L O V E I T!!!!!! I am 6'5" tall and fit perfect unlike the older 996 versions and even older ones. The new cabin in the 997 is very very nice and classy looking.

Check the rear main seal. Porsche came out with a revised seal at the end of last year which stopped the leaks and at the same time we would replace some of the case bolts which had a different type of sealer on them. I have a few c4s which had the cats fail. I have not seen cats failing on other 911's. For the most part the 996's have been very good.

I had a friend that just sold his Carrera and purchased a SL55 AMG. He said he would never go back. I have never driven either car, but I'm sure you know what you want.
