I was wondering if anyone has had the screw drive go bad on there hatch? Mine just decided to stop working. I hear the motor spinning but I have to pull it up at the same time to get it open. And the engine cover is freaking heavy. Is this an easy fix?

I have replaced mine twice. First time it failed like yours. Then I realized that I did not put the right one on the second time. I bought an 18 inch stroke instead of a 24 inch stroke.

Changed it again last winter.

They are very standard, just make sure you get a 24 inch stroke. Unhook it at the top of the hatch and lift the hatch up and block it with a couple of 2 x 4's. Then clip the wires off your old actuator and remove the bottom bolt. Then just reverse the process installing the new one and use crimp wire connectors with the heat shrinks for your connections.
