Default Leaking sump... any advice?

Hi, just found port engine has hole in sump (slow drip). I assume there are no tricks/ways around having to pull engine out of boat to fix it? It is 5.7L mercruiser in Stinger 260. Thanks! Andrew

With twins in a 260 you just about have to pull the engine to change plugs! No, to do that job the engine has to come out. Sounds like a good time to build them up to 409s and make that thing git

is it actually in the oil pan or leaking past a main seal gasket? theres a few "tricks" you can do if you just want to "band-aid" the issue to be able to go boating for a little while longer....but eventually you will need to address the problem as it will only get worse and you are better off fixing it before it becomes a MAJOR problem....anyway if you only have a pinhole in the pan....i would drain the pan and let it sit overnight so as much oil comes out as possible and away from the laeking part....then take some brake cleaner and spray down the area...if you can reach down there then use some sand paper to sand off some of the paint and then put some JB-weld or other two part high temp epoxy on the hole and let it fully cure before putting any oil back in.
If its leaking past the main seal you can drain the oil same as above and again spray with brake cleaner....when it dries up, use some silicone on you finger and wipe it all over the seal where its leaking around...let it cure again before filling or starting...i did this with a 1979 blazer that had over 100k miles on the engine and it lasted another 50k miles before i pulled it out and rebuilt the engine

Default Engine mounts?

Slowly getting there.... does anybody know if these are any type of standard engine mount, or do I need to get the mercruiserspecific? The front mount on the front port side is broken... Merc 5.7L 1988.. Thanks! Andrew
