Is there anyone in the St Louis area with a hand pump for the larger Amsoil Quarts. I ordered one on Monday Oct 30th and they jacked around with my order and it did not ship until today Nov 2nd. I will not receive it until Monday Nov 6th. I hope their oil is better than their customer service. I had planned on winterizing mine and 2 other boats on Sunday. They were supposed to call me back today and never returned my call. If I did business this way I would not last very long.
Thanks,
Jeff

You can probably make something just as good. I have one of Amsoil's and it loks like they hand make them. The hose doesn't have a nipple per se, to fill so you have to hold it and try to keep the leakage down.
I didn't see what the link to Speedwake was, but I bet it's just as good, knowing what the one Amsoil sells is like.

Thanks SB
I already have a merc hand pump. I think I will pick up a small sprayer and make my own. The hand pump kind of sucks anyway.
Thanks,
Jeff

Cool. It really makes life easier.
Glad I could help.
Tech tip: have gear oil atleast room temperature. The warmer it is the faster the filling will be. If gear fluid is cold it will take a long time to fill. Cold gear oil is mighty thick.

I thought about that and that will work if I cannot find a sprayer that will work. We are doing 3 boats on Sunday and that just seemed like a bunch of wasted time. I hear the Amsoil is the best but their customer service just doesn't care. I still have not heard back from them on the pump. NO APOLOGY OR ANYTHING. I am going to look for a sprayer tomorrow.
Thanks,
Jeff

Now if we can come up with something that prevents the drive oil from coming out while fumbeling with the drain plug making sure the gasket is on. Even with the vent screw in, still makes a mess.
Tip, I use one of the spring loaded screw starters to remove the drain plug after being loosened and then also have the drain screw installed on the screw starter to reinstall the drain screw as soon as the fill hose is removed. Sure beats trying to get your fingers in there.

That what I do.
