Default carbs on 525sc's

What carb's are people running on the 525sc's (454 with the small blowers) other than the factor 1050 dominators and what kind of improvements did they make?

I think the Hawk motors (454cid, 177, 525hp) in Cigs use a reworked 850 holley, made to flow 900+cfm. It supposed to give them a better idle.

Stock 525sc's have the 1050's. I don't know how you could make them idle better. Mine idles like its an efi at 700rpms in gear.

Tyler Crockett set some up for me that were perfect and a great deal. They were modified 850 Quick Fuels. The guy who owns Q.F. is my neighbor, an ex Holley guy. I beleive they were in the 400's range but I bought a lot of other stuff too. The motors ran like EFI.

I agree with that. The only thing that would be better with the 1050's is if they had a choke for those cold fall mornings

8-10 minutes

I can let mine run @ 1200rpms for 30 seconds and back it off the trailer. Its close to stalling then, but after another minute at 1200rpms its fine.

Mine idles and runs fine. I just thought that a 1050 is a little much for what boost these little motors make. I was looking at a 850 Barry Grant demon or even a pro systems dominator or something that would give better fuel economy and speed. I thought I would ask considering how many people are a member of this board. Somebody has had 525sc and tried everything I am considering changing from heads ,cams, to carbs.
