Are the Cig Glad and tg stepped hull more dangerous than other stepped hulls

Depends on who you talk to.

I wouldn't say that....maybe more dangerestinglyer than most.

We have 2 stepped hull boats.....both go over 90 mph...
The true danger is in person behind the wheel...period....

I raced a twin step Cig on tight courses , never spun it out and no problems. What f40 said.

If you're properly instructed on operating a step boat at speed, they're only somewhat trickier than a straight bottom. Otherwise, high-speed turns can be lethal- literally.

I've been driving step bottom boats since 1999 and never had a problem. Read the latest issue of Powerboat and they have some excellent tips on turning a step bottom by Tres Martin. One thing to remember is that you DO NOT turn a step bottom like a traditional V. Keep the drive trimed out right past neutral and settle the boat befor the turn.
