Default speaker placement in a 280

Last summer I put a new head unit and a sirius unit in my boat. I currently have only 4 infinity speakers, two under the rear bench and two in the cabin. I'd like to add 4 more speakers and an amp to the cockpit and was looking for ideas for placement. Has anyone mounted speakers up by the driver and co-pilot? Where did you locate them? I'm concerned that any speakers near the driver would interfere with the throttle.

Hey have you thought about under the helm and under the clove box???? Or in the gunnels that run from the double footrest to the back bench seat????Or if you could find some 4"Xwhatever" square speakers with a brackit you may be able to mount them under each side up high on the free bourd. Where they run the steering cables and wiring back to the engine conpartment.

Mounting them with a bracket might be a good idea. then I can angle them up. I just want to mount them as high as possible so that I can hear them.

How well does it work in a 280. I would think you would have a hard time keeping them on at speed.

Here are where I put the speakers in my boat, they seemed to fit nicely there after the panel was made.

Hemi, Nice speaker placement, looks great.
Is that sea foam / sea board type of material?
Any backing to the speakers?
Thanks

I'm not necessarily looking for music while i'm running hard, but with the current speaker setup, i have to crank the stereo just to hear it at idle.

That looks awesome hemi. Starboard? This may be the route I take.
