Can someone explain what the difference is in hull design for sit down vs. stand up seating ?
Is it strictly seat to floor, dash and control placement or are other things involved ?

I am not a boat builder or anything like that but I know that freeboard is a consideration on a stand up boat vs a sit down boat . I prefer a stand up boat wit alot of freeboard. Just my 2 cents

I laminate aluminum in the cockpit floor and through bolt / lag the seat frames in. Freeboard is not an issue as we custom set every seat frame to the customers specs. I have foot inserts in the dash so you can push like crazy. This does two things - 1. Keeps you planted in the seat 2. Takes the load off your spine / back. This directs pressure to your shoulders. This works well for us and hope this helps answer your questions.

I converted mine from stand up to sit down. I will never go back to standing again.
I did have use a large spacer on the helm to get the steering wheel closer to me and had to re position the throttles.

Usually boats with more cockpit depth are stand up boats.
