Hello All, mercruiser says to use perfect seal around the head and main bearing bolts ,does anyone have any other suggestion on what I could use and that I get at a local auto parts store. Thanks

Go to any GM dealer and get the head bolt sealer, clean each hole in the block with acetone then apply a little into each hole and brush a coat onto the bolts threads. As the bolts screw in they will push tsome sealer down the threads giving good protection, just painting the bolts can lead to failure of the block threads from corrosion seeping up the threads from the water jacket.
