Standup 42'
#1
We are considering a pre owned 6 seat 40' to 46' Cat less power to replace our 38' Topgun and our 145mph 37' Talon Cat.
Can anyone give me the pros and cons of the 42' and 44' MTI's with stand up bolsters, vrs sit down, as to wind , overall comfort, also what kind of speeds we can expect to see with our current fresh 1150hp 565ci power through #6 drives.
.As long as she has a head / cuddy cabin,as we run day trips from our Bay home we have know need for major cabin amenities, just more cock pit space.
Lastly did MTI make any 6 passenger sit down 42' or 44' rigs as that would surely be my preference.
Thanks for any input!

check out www.pier57.com they have some stand up's for sale and some good pics to show what everything is... 42MTI on here had one and now has one of the new 6 seat sit downs in production.... Superman on here got the first sit down six seater out the door late this year... RareBreed is also on here and has one of the coolest standup versions....

I would contact David or Frankie at Pier 57. They can configure a sit down with or without head. 42MTI has a head and I did not. If you are producing 1150hp then you can definitely run faster than your Talon but you won't find a used one for awhile. The standups cabin is awesome but much more wind. Rare Breed has to be the nicest used one on the market and it has been meticulously maintained (two slips down from me). The ride of RB is great with the rudder set up.

the PR cockpits have windscreens, also the windscreen can power up in front of the driver/passenger for addtional wind blockage.... i don't think you are gonna keep wind out of the rest of that huge cockpit...
the 42/44 have the same bottom, the 44 just has the extended bustle either for a rudder installation or just for better looks as the newer ones are doing....

Thanks for the feed back as well as the PMs, it's helpful in narrowing our choices for the Spring, and yes I have to agree, Rare Breed is a super clean looking rig, very nice!
