Velocity 29 Owners
#1
Looking to make a move up and happened to take a look at Velocities website. I noted the 29 had a single in it. Question is whats the perforamance and ride like. Seems with a single it maybe a little light which can have ill effects on handling.
However I do like the idea of staying with a single.

I have a 29 SC 496 HO, which out of the box runs 70-71's. I did add the CMI headers and increased 3-4MPH. I have experienced absolutely no Ill handling, and the ride has been fantastic. You probably would not want twins in a that boat.
I am currently building a 32 with single 700, so my 290 is for sale. The boat is perfect, with only 60 hours.

Don't know if this will help, but my brother has a single engine 32. The boat handles great. It runs in the 70's with a mild 572.(GPS) I would not be afraid of buying a 29 single.

I'm hoping that they will have a couple at the Chicago boat show for me to look at next week. Do they run a pad??? I'm assuming so based of the speeds of the boat.

Modern Marine in Schoolcraft Mi. was a dealer for them but i don't know if they still are or not. I would like to check one out also from pictres and what I have read it sounds like a great boat for my family.

Modern Marine is a dealer. Bought my VR1 from them. They had a 290SC in their showroom a year ago. Very nice boat. Same bottom as the VR1 with a higher freeboard.
