Default SSM#3 drive questions

Im looking at a boat with SSM#3 drives. I dont know too much about them. Ive always had bravo drives. What kinda power can these drives handle? Are they still making these drives or are they outdated. Any info would be a great help.

We are putting 900 through one. No problems. Cobra in Miami has gears for them at arount 2K a set. Bearings are available as well. I wouldnt run 900 Hp with a big diameter 4 blade and a heavy boat and be carefull when landing from high altitude with power on. We run a small diameter Clever and spin it fast. Also use a 2 speed trans to get on the plane but thats not a deal breaker. Keep the pink oil in it and change it as soon as it shows a sigh of changing colour. Drive SHOWER a must. Good Luck. Great drives. Waaaayyyyy better than a Bravo. Cheers. Jas

What type of two speed are you running? I have a B&M that I am rigging but I am having trouble finding information on it.
