Does anyone know about the bravo 1 redesigns? I am led to understand that there is differences in the 1988 to 1991 bravo's vs. the subsequent years. I am told that the newer upper gearcase will not bolt up to the older lower unit. Does anyone know why?
I searched the threads and connot find an answer.

Early on there were oil passage changes. Some other stuff internally between now & then as well. Like the upper gear's clutches. Most recently for 05 the drive got a new upper housing with some mods to improve shifting & upper housing cooling with a finned cap.. Jamie / Lakeside
