Boat brand opinions

Hello all, I am new to offshore boating. What are peoples opinions on Checkmate and Scarab brand boats in and around the 28 twin screw range? How would you compare them to big names like Formula and Fountain? How about 6.2's vs. 7.4 310's?
Any opinions would be great!
