I was looking at there site tonight and noticed that they do not show the stand up models any more. I have always thought that the 44 stand up ( Rare Breed and The Dirty Duck) were great boats. Any reason they stoped making them?

They still make these boats upon request, with MTIs success in the sit downs and race boats, and their limited production I dont think time allows for it. By the way I always drive Rare Breed sitting down! These are great boats if y ou like to haul more than 4 or 6 people, I can sit 8, and more can stand! lots of room and a blender for frozen drinks ! These boats perform awesome with lots of benefits!

After going to the boat show and looking at all the boats I still feel that these are the best all around boats.

How do they run with lets say 700 hp? Has one ever been built with the ace drives yet?

How bad is insurance? Are they viewed the same as the sit down version when talking to the insurance company?

Yes, Randy still builds thems. They built a very nice 44, #6 boat with 1500hp sterlings last spring. I believe it was called Pure Platinum.
The last 575 boat that I know of ran about 107 during testing, and the owner claimed to have seen 111.

With the smaller motors I would think the insurance would be somewhat reasonable, mine has 1100s and BPM drives, I pay aprox. 8900 a year, thats with a layup period and not going to the ocean.
