How do I find what year these Merc motors are

Default How do I find what year these Merc motors are
They are a pair of 2.4 outboards the serial numbers are

6392642
and
6374962

any info would be great

motors come up as Mercury 200 ELPT registered on 5-20-1983 to Port Edgewood Boat Rental in Cranston, RI

What's even more interesting is that 200 ELPT's are not 2.4's.

If these things have 2.4 cowls on them...someone has made some mods.

83's and later are finger ported 142" engines. (2.4L).
