Don Aronow's 80th birthday

If Don had still been living, he would be turning 80 on March 1st.
We are opening the new Diamond Anchor section on that date...March 1st...... that will feature a lot of never before seen photos of Don and his career in the boating world. Below is a photo of Don in 1945 when he was in the US Merchant Marine.
A big thank you to John Crouse and Michael Aronow for opening up the treasure chest of photo albums from Don's life.
We have already begun sendng out the free video Run Sunward that shows Don andothers racing in the 60's. Thank you for your support of our efforts to keep the history of this great sport alive.

That is actually a Midshipman uniform (Navy) as designated by the anchor on the his cover and the stars on his sleeve that would have been worn at OCS... I know, I wore one! Not sure why the pictures shows him in that if he was in the MM's.
