Tom Mason is a very good friend of the owner/founder of Latitude. They go back to the Midnight days. Tom did a trade with them and they were allowed to build one boat in return for mould maintenance.
The former owner of Powerplay did not have the time or money to take care of the moulds at the end of his reign .
There was talk of Powerplay leasing the moulds to Latitude, but instead, Powerplay has decided to continue to build the 33 along with all of our other models. We all know how things get spun out of control. Believe me when I tell you that there is no bad blood between the two. Come see us at the Palm Beach Show March 22nd thru the 25th. As always, if there are any questions, please email me at [email protected]
See you at the show!

Thanks for the clarification. So you are saying the Latitude has none of the old Powerplay molds? For a minute there, I thought they had the molds and were only building open sportfisherman models, but your post makes it sound like that they have gone out and built thier own. I think they have something on display in Palm Beach this week as well. Wonder why the Latitiude sales guy doesn't comment on this thread either.
