Default VC 17/18 bottom paints??

I tried a search of this forum and came up with nothing Soooo

I have a friend that is removing the bottom paint (paying to have it soda blasted) if the gel has problems or the boat needs to stay in the water for more than a week would this be the way to go?

I know your asking why take off bottom paint to put more on The stuff on there now is the thick old cruiser style paint, what I'm wondering is if the VC products would be the answer instead of bad exposed gel or the regular style paint left in the water for more than a week?

Any other suggestions are welcome as long as your user name is not "Cuda"

Default vc is thin

and will rub or scratch off. The gel is fine if you keep up with the service. Sand and buff it back if you can.
