Default Fountain Bolster Foor Mounts

Has anyone had an issue with those six bolts in the floor (3 per bolster seat) that don't seem to get "tight"? I thought these were thru-bolted like everything else but they are feeling like lag screws - ugh! Perhaps the nuts are simply turning on the other side of the bottom??

If they are thru-bolted, how do I gain access to tighten them up? If they're not thru, how did you guys fix this?

Thanks!

Just plain old lag bolts.

Now I dont claim to be an expert on this but I believe they are lags. If you cant get them tight then take them out and mix up some epoxy and inject it into the holes with a hypo. Let it cure and drill them out with a bit that is comensurate with the bolts and put them back in. You may want to call fountain on this.

Have the same problem with my 35x. Bad design. Bent the seat brackets because of it!

I checked the holes for rot, made sure everything was good and dry (all was well), cleaned the holes out, shot them full of 5200 and put in the next larger size lag bolt. Tightened right up.

Default Thanks a lot!

knew i could count on some good answers. this site and the folks on it are fantastic! despite a few minor shortcomings (that any boat would have), i LOVE Fountain boats -

I've had the same problem on my 2000 - 29' Fever...The lag screws work out and then they won't tighten down and are stripped... I thought about seeing if putting in lag shields or something different would work better...I think you would have to remove the seats to do that though...If anyone has a better fix I'd love to hear it...I agree, one of the only poor design features on the boat

No alum in mine. If there was, I'd expect to see bolts instead of lag bolts then.
