Default What grit to use?

There are some minor scratches in my gel coat from shoe scuffs, I would like to wet sand them out . Don't want to start with too coarse a grit. What grit should I start with?

Yep, They opened up a new store at Myrtle Beach. I know his phone has been acting up, so it maybe next week before he's back to normal.

I've always done 1500 - 2000 wet for the little stuff, then buffed up with the 3M Finesse-it. I would think 600 would be a little agressive for minor scuffs, and a lot more compounding time after. Just my $.02.

Yeah, Fred got back to me...but it took a few days and a couple e-mails and phone calls. He is very busy.

Thanks Ragged,
Going to sand it today. Think I'll start with the 1500

Being the rookie that I am, I always start off fine then work backwards if need be. Figure better safe than sorry.
