I just bought a set of The eddie marine 10" angles exhaust tips w/ the internal flappers, the internal flappers are metal w/ rubber on the top and bottom,
eddie marine said they won't rattle at all on the 496 h.o's cause the cam thats in those motors won't ever let them fall all the way down to rattle? has any one else heard of this i just don't want it to sound like someone beating a frying pan w/ a spoon YA know
IF anyone has tried these tips on their boat or seen these tips let me know any help would be a great help!
My boat is a 2003 Baja 25 outlaw with the 496 mag H.O
thanks for any help

I had a set of the Eddie Marine silent choice exhaust tips and all they did was rattle.
At idle if you opened the engine compartment it sounded like the motor was going to grenade.
A little embarasing at the ramp or when showing somebody how impressive your motor is.

Yes, the rubber will eventually wear away and your flapper will rattle. Thats is what influenced Hardin marine to come out with there new style flap design to eliminate the rattle not to mention easier to service.

I have a set in a 20' Cigarette with an HP 425/TRS and at idle with the engine hatch opened they have a rattle. With the hatch closed and the slightest throttle you would never know they were installed. I am very satisfied. I had Gil mufflers before and picked up 5mph gps when I made the change.

I had them behind 575SCi's and they rattled! They only had 50 hours on them, and the rubber was already worn down to the metal flappers - nice clank - clank sound.
Just bought a set of the new Corsa tips from Trick.
They don't look like they are capable of a rattle. Haven't run the boat yet, but I have good expectations.
