Shoot PM to Blue By You here on OSO. He is the President of the SMLPBA, and the SMLPBA has a forum here on OSO. He also lives in Greensboro.

There are lots of NICE places in NC/SC/VA to lake boat, not to mention the ocean.

Blews Creek right there at you. A nice lake but small, usually water ski and wake board boats and a few performance boats. We kept a 21 foot there is 2000 and got real bored after one summer.

About 50 miles for you to Lake Norman. That will be the best boating in the area.

Then head North to Smith Mountain Lake. I'm 45 minutes from Greensboro, and it takes me about 2-1/2 hours to Smith Mountain. Beautiful area.
