Anyone have opinions on oil brands for these motors for best lifter longevity. I have heard Delo heavy duty or Rottella. Need answers before dyno tomorrow. Havn't filled the pans yet.

The newest thing I been hearing is the rotella no longer has the plus 2% zddp in it either, sounds like a pia but the joe gibbs racing oil is supposed to have it BUT typically racing oil isn't formulated to run for 25 or 50 hours. GM E.O.S is still a sure thing though if you want to add some to a high quality off the shelf oil,Smitty

Heard allot of guys using the diesel oil because it still has suffer in them , something like that?
I have always just use straight 30 weight for breakin. I looked at my ecm after dynoing .all day making pulls was only 14 minutes of run time total.

My guess would be the amounts of Zinc because the VR1 is approved for the road and the Off Road doesn't need to meet the emissions standards.
