I'm excited to see what VW brings to the marine world. This is my 67 turbo VW at the Vegas strip getting ready for another 11 second 1/4 mile pass.

We ( www.abdracing.com ) have been tuning Volkswagens for almost two decades and in this time i have always wanted to put a turbo VR6 into a jet boat .
With this latest TDI tech it will be interesting to see what comes of it- the torque is there along with a great weight savings and reliability.
The latest 2.0l FSi turbo motors are fairly easy to modify to more than 425 HP and we see motors of 700 HP coming within the next year or so.
Stay tuned,

Dave

330 ft lbs stock is very conservative out of a v6 tdi, there has to be another 100 ft lbs in there at least, could be very cool in the V24 Batboats or a pair of them in something like a Formula 27 or 31 PC

Sweet - always been a bug / VW guy. I've got a 1981 Scirocco S model. I've had 5 bugs.

Yes - the VW technology is a great alternative for twin powered smaller boats-(26-30').

Not to mention proable 1,000+ hour motors before overhaul- nice idea.

Yes they are very nice.
In fact i will be taking one to the Desert Storm poker run for some cross promoting.
The V10 TDi is an amazing vehicle- just the cost is a hard sale AT 68-70K !
