ring gears on flywheels

ring gears on flywheels
does anybody know if flywheels for block mounted starters can be made to work with bellhousing mounted starters ,by maching the step and moving the ring gear and if so how much,or does anybody have any flywheels laying around ,these are gen5 454's tranys and ssm 3 drives

Absolutely, just match the diameter and machine it so the ring gear is flush with the face.
