Default Need Recomendation for Props for a 38zx (Daytona)

I had my props stolen this winter for my Donzi 38zx Daytona, and have been in the market for a set since then. I have gotten several recomendations. Hydromotive has suggested the p5x 26 pitch, as well as Teague Marine. With my old Bravo I's 28 pitch, I was only getting 4800 RPM's and top end speed of 73-74 GPS. I have been told by Donzi I should be around 80 with the RPM's at 5200-5300. I then spoke with Bronsonhill out in CA and they were telling me I would get slower speeds with the p5X 26 pitch. So now I am a little uncertain what direction to go.

Thanks for the help!

Most of the 38ZX ran 28 and 30 pitch props, Now here is the big question are you running freshwater or saltwater any elavation, do you have ITS and did you check your throttle cables to make sure your getting full throttle, what engines do you have, there is a big difference between the 500efi and the 525s most of the ZXs run 80 in Florida due to there high salt content but in our area they run 78. I would not use Hydramotive they will give the boat to much rear lift and on a step bottom it will hamper your ride.

Only Freshwater, 500efi's, did not check the throttle cables but will do so now. Not sure on the ITS question. So you are saying stick with the 28 pitch Bravo I's ?

Thanks for the help.

If you are in freshwater see if you can borrow a set of 26pitch props this will bring your rpms up and spin the wheels faster. when you run freshwater you will always loose 4-6mph from saltwater.

I had a 02 38zx non daytona with the 500 efi's and was running bravo 26 4 blades. I had them repitched because I was consistently hitting the rev limiters at 5300+. I think it is safe to assume with low humidity that I could have run the 28 4 blades and been at just over 5000-5100. I would consistently get around 70 mph on gps with full fuel and full, full load and 3-5+ people. Best ever on the 26's was around 75 on gps in freshwater.
